Disable touch pad with Ubuntu as OS

Is it possible to disable the touchpad so I don't touch it by accident when I'm using a mouse? 

My OS is Ubuntu, not windows.

I have an  Inspiron 15 5585.

Is there a BIOS setting?

All the solutions I've found depend on Windows and Windows software.
