Factory reset Inspiron 5555
I want to factory reset my Dell Inspiron 5555 which I bought in 2015. It came with WINDOWS 8 HOME and the system updated to WINDOWS 10 HOME 64.
I created a factory reset DVD but when I try to complete the system restore I receive a message that the files are corrupted. How can I do the factory settings restore?

The Dell recovery factory restore will only work with the OS that the system was shipped with, in your case Windows 8. But you can go to the Microsoft media creation tool page and create a USB drive image that will allow you to reinstall Windows 10. Since you have activated Windows 10 before, you can reinstall and have it auto activate at any time. Windows 10 has a digital License that is locked into your BIOS.

Go to the following Dell support page. You can download the Dell OS Recovery Tool and reset the system to the factory image it came with.

I found a a USB stick I had taken a system factory restore and it's working now. I suspect win8 will be installed and I will have to upgrade again, do you think I could find win10 from the method you suggested?
