I'm going to guess that "hard drive" means system - which was previously connected to that network (hence no need for user/pass). The rest is a function of your router setup - most ISP-provided routers have a default username/password and it's usually on a label attached to the router.

Hello,

Recently got a fairly new hardrive from my sister that was set to go; basically all it has is the OS windows 7 atm. I was confused however that the default network connected to the internet already, perhaps my sister already set it up. I was also confused as to what happened to my previous wireless connection from my old hard drive as the name doesnt show up (not sure if it matters or not).

My question is my default home network safe to use? In other words, am I the only one who can access it or is it accessible to those around me? I don't see a password for it, which concerns me, but I may be wrong. I also don't see other networks to connect to, only mine. Its connected under Local Area Connection.

If I do need to change it, do I get the info from my router and/or my ISP if it asks me for a user/password to set up a new connection?

Thanks in advance.

You got from a hard drive from your sister and put it into your laptop and you expect it to work????

That makes no sense.
