Flash progress 0% for more than 7 hours

Question

Last night i was using Microsoft word on my DELL inspiron, then i do not know how it is passed on updating firmware

All what i see in front of me is :

Dell

U your firmware

D not power down your system

Flash progress 0%

Since last night till now nothing has changed. I

cannot turn it off. I can press power down for minutes, nothing happens. The battery cannot be removed I think without opening the system.

Is this brand new laptop dead meat now? I only had it for a few days.

PLEASE What should I do?

Make contact with Dell tech support this is a hardware issue.
