Any idea what ram kits are certified to work at 3200mhz with this laptop? Have ordered it, and am thinking about getting a 32 gb kit. But I can't find much compatibility info online.
You will need 1.2V SODIMMS, Kingston sell some on their page. If you get 1.35V SODIMMS, the laptop will downclock the RAM to a slower speed to compensate.
Yes. Looks like this will work. However, This looks like High density RAM. Which can lower performance vs low density RAM. If you do get it, let me know how it turns out. Just got my G15 5515 yesterday and already looking to upgrade the RAM myself.
This here is low density RAM. You can often tell when the RAM card has 16 chips on it (8 Chips on either side) >> Low Density = Higher Performance
If your unsure. Search up low density vs high density RAM on YouTube. It will explain it better. Also shows you the performance difference between High and Low
I have just upgraded my single sick of 8 gb ram to 32gb 3200 mhz cl 16 by crucial, it happens to be rated at 1.35 volts and so the ram is showing it is running at 2667 mhz
so thank you this info as it tell me why my ram is now retarded to a slower speed,
and it is a little silly that the laptop can't utilize the ram to it's fullest, esp as ryzen would love to use the better timings and speed.
I just purchased a G15 Ryzen Edition (5515) Can someone recommend the best memory upgrade to make? I assume that 32GB max memory is best or ??? Thanks in advance.....

It does not - if you try installing aggressively timed RAM, it will default to its lowest speed.
Particularly with a system like this one, it's important to use RAM certified to work (Crucial, Kingston and others have this).

Would this work at 3200 CL16? G.Skill website says requires XMP, but it's 3200 CL16 @ 1.2 volts

RAM details shown by AWCC are fake. You should use other tools like HWinfo, ZenTimings or CPU-Z to read RAM details.

This is wrong.
i think what you were on about is single rank and dual rank.
Single rank only has ram chips on one side and dual-rank has ram chip on both side.
it can be either 4 chip on each side or 8 on each side of the RAM PCB.
best performance for Ryzan config is using 2 dual-rank ram modules.
each rank uses the 1 direct memory lanes to the CPU.
and Ryzan has four memory lanes.
you get the point.
and lowest latency.

Will this work as an upgrade?
