G3 3779 won't recognize headset mic

When i first purchased this G3 3779 a little over two weeks ago, it had no problem recognizing my headset mic. Sometime last week, it updated and now will only use its built in mic and won't even recognize that the headset is plugged in. Sound on the headset still works.
