G7 Keyboard not working keys bad

My G7 has keyboard issues where it stopped working and keys just failed.  I saw others on line with similar issues and some were software but many hardware like mine (keys stopped working, keyboard needed to be replaced, even professional tech service recommended by Dell ruined the connector and required hundreds of $ to fix etc.).  I tried to clean but still issues. I took off some keys and cleaned and they seemed to work a little if really pressed but it was horrible.  I have tried to resolve before.  looking up solutions to replace and found it is very difficult to do and it was noted some have ruined the laptop ability to use the keyboard (even tech service has done this) due to the connections being fragile, so not even suggested to try yourself.  This would have been even under warranty the idea of even taking it to a tech was noted as bad as it costs so much more if they ruin it.  Since this one no longer under warranty that is not even really an option to try.  An alternate solution given was to buy an external keyboard and use it instead.  This is what I have done and it has been well over a year now just getting by with this.  I really liked the laptop and would have kept using it but this is not workable anymore and I am ready to move on now.  I will be looking for a new laptop and will no longer look at Dell, which was one of my top options.  Who builds a laptop with a  keyboard and then makes it crazy hard to replace?  Just not acceptable and I no longer trust Dell anymore.  I am sure there is no easy way to resolve this so I am not expecting anything from you and I am just stuck looking for a new one but I wanted to let you know this is a problem.

Yes all those RGBs and Gaming makes this machine a lot more complicated to repair.

If you are moving to a new Machine what do you have to loose.

Try a repair

There are tons of videos available and service manual too
