If so, it could be a hardware issue. To save time for the inevitable, revert to Windows 10 before calling for support (they're going to insist you do that before any repair is authorized).
Yes, but just like it does now, if I remember correctly - sometimes it read it right off, other times "clean your sensor" and then no, let's use that PIN.

Since that's a pre-release beta of Windows 11 -- it's unlikely they'll support it.
Did the reader work under Windows 10 (or on an official release of Windows 11)?
