How to do 'print screen' direct to printer

I don't know whether this is a question relevant to Dell (in which case, which board?) or MicroSoft.  I simply want to do a 'print screen' direct to my printer.  A Google search yielded this:   'Hold down the 'Control' key (Ctrl) and the 'Print Screen' key to capture a screen shot of the full desktop. The image will be sent directly to the designated printer.' But Ctrl...PrtScr does nothing on my Inspiron 3793.  I've got a default printer defined so is there any other setup I need to do?

This MS forum page would seem to dispute that. A Google search turns up a number of apps that will do exactly what you want such as here. Generally the Print Screen captures the image to be pasted into a program such as MS Paint which then can be sent to the printer.

There are 2 more steps after Control, Print. Open Word or another program like Paint and right click and Paste. Then choose Print.

Windows 10 has built in Snipping features.

I mainly prefer using Snipping tool. Grab whatever you want to grab and Print.

Print Screen is OLD now. Snipping Tool is much better

I found this software call PrintKey which work great, just google for it.
