First off find out for sure what SSD your notebook will work with?

To get this information you need to log on to support, enter your model number and most importantly Enter your Service Tag Number.

That will open all the hardware information on your Particular notebook, You should download and read your Service Manual there you will find out how to open your notebook and see for yourself what sockets you actually have.

What you want to do is Clone you present hard drive to your new SSD. I recommend Macrium Reflect Free, its top of the line clone and image and back up software, and it can be free more features are available for the paid versions however for just a clone from old to new the free edition is more than sufficient.

Here is an excellent video on how this its done https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LClr3FPg4_4.
