Inspiron 14-3452
I have two of these. I had no problems on one updating to the May 2019 Windows 10 update; plenty of hard drive space. The other one only has 7 GB free. I've spent two days trying to free up space (there is literally nothing of personal use on the laptop and I went thru Apps and the only program which I haven't deleted yet is Support Assist. I also used disk cleanup checked windows/temp users/appdata temp removed all the files there too all to no avail. I have plenty of blank flash drives, is there someway that I can update using it? The Upgrade Assist doesn't work I'm at a loss-any help is appreciated!!!!!

When you ran disk clean up did you also use system clean up?
Otherwise, you'll have to remove some software or find what it using up your hard drive space. Your going to need at least 24 GB of free space since 1903 is a major upgrade so will create a window.old file plus needing the room to actually do the install windows.old is usually about 12 GB alone.
You said you have 2 identical notebooks? there must be some difference like hard drive size or something wrong with your current OS
How is the hard drive partitioned perhaps that is where your problem lies? Generally speaking, 128 GB is minimum for OS and programs

Yes I ran system clean up as well. There is nothing left that I can remove. I went to Apps and Features and there is no option to remove anything.

I think the one with only 7GB left, may only have 32GB SSD drive?? If so, a flash drive will not work and will need an external HD.....if I'm not mistaken.

What size SSD does each notebook Have? If the one is smaller than the other then upgrade the Hard Drive/SSD Clone to the new one and then upgrade.

I did it, I went to Apps and Games and deleted a bunch of stuff. I also used a 1 terabyte external SSD. And I used Storage Sense to remove temporary files and old versions of Windows on the laptop, that gave me the space I needed.
