Remote Desktop is a virtual connection and it has nothing to with your Laptops battery directly. Check power settings on your laptop. If you`re losing your connection then it might be issue of your internet bandwidth too. I faced the same issue in my office where employees using citrix virtual desktop and windows virtual desktop were losing connection due to poor internet connection later on we upgraded our bandwidth and it worked fine and smooth.
