Inspiron 3458 bios update cannot be done while battery cannot be charged at the same time
Hi,
My laptop battery cannot be charged, with the power adapter plugged in.
After diagnosed with Dell Support Assist, I realized that I need to update my Dell System Bios Driver (BIOS| Dell Inspiron 3458 and 3558 System BIOS).
So the issue here is, my battery has 3% left available, while the Bios Driver update required more than 10% so the installation and update can be done; and without the successful Bios Driver update, the battery cannot be charged.
Please advise on this complete mess.
Thank you in advance!

Your battery probably needs to be replaced with a genuine Dell replacement Battery. Bios does not control the battery charging. You must charge the battery first to update the bios. If battery won't charge, it has failed.
