Inspiron 3583 usb boot problem, DOS help needed please!

Hi! I'm a newbie to this community, but not computers. Even know a little DOS. My 3583 blacked out. I've consulted a large number of online resources for help. I've given up on the idea of resurrecting the 3583 as a functioning computer. Bought an HP envy x360. Made a recovery USB drive from it. Can insert it into the 3583 and the 3583 it tries to boot from it. Doesn't. I think I've tried everything that is advised online. All I want to do currently is to access the 3583's SSD directory. I can get the DOS command prompt on the x:\ (the usb recovery flash drive). I can use the DOS cd command to navigate within the flash drive. What I can't do is cd to the c:\, which is presumably the 3583's SSD drive. Trying that simply returns me to the x:\. If I try cd a:\ I get the message "The system cannot find the drive specified." Same for b: and d: and presumably all others.

So, the bottom line question is this: Can anybody tell me how to access the 3583's SSD directory from the DOS prompt on the x: ?

An even more ambitious possibility is this: BestBuy for $100 will transfer (at least they claim to be able to transfer) all the data from the 3583's SSD to the HP SSD by physically removing the 3583's SSD and plugging it into some device that can then transfer the files to the HP. I'm perfectly comfortable with the manual aspects of accessing and removing the 3583's SSD and plugging it into another device. I have an couple year older Dell inspiron with a hard disk that probably still works (slowly). Does anybody think that transferring the 3583's SSD to the older Dell or some other device will work and/or is worth it? I am not going to crack open the HP, but if there is some adapter device that I could plug the 3583's SSD into and connect it to the HP via a usb port I'd be interested. Thanks very much for your time and any advice you can give me. Dennis P.

I just got an email asking for these numbers

the service tag(s/n) on the 3583 is
the express service code is

What type of drive is in the Inspiron -- a 2.5" SATA drive, or an M.2 SSD?

You may or may not be able to recover the data  from the drive.  Yes, you can buy a USB to SATA or NVMe adapter -- however, if this was the root drive (the Windows drive) from the original system, was the drive known to be in working order, or could it be faulty?  And if it was the original boot drive, using an as-shipped from Dell, it may have Bitlocker enabled -- which will greatly complicate (or rather, render impossible) reading the drive.
