Inspiron 5570 after installing SSD Not getting Full performance

I Installed 512 GB M.2 Nvme PCIe 3rd gen Crucial P3 SSD on my laptop and installed fresh windows in it.

after installing the expected performance, it should give me a speed of around 3600 Mb/s approx. (vary for Reading and writing).

but after running benchmarks, I found that it is only giving 1800 Mb/s around only.

I have confirmed that it is running on AHCI mode and all drivers necessary are updated.

is there anything I am missing which needs to be configured for full performance?

any help will be helpful. Thank you.

Sorry, the 5570 is using GT2 mode rather than GT4 (means is limited to 1.8 GB/s)

Hi,

sorry to hear, that you are not receiving your desired speeds with your SSD. 1800Mb/s is still pretty fast and i doubt that you will ultimately feel a big difference between 1800 and around 2600 which you might able to achieve in normal conditions.

I am not aware of your bios and your bios settings - but with never models there is a specific setting where you additionally have a NVME option which you can activate - maybe this is missing. (is your bios up to date? Are there maybe some general DELL or Intel Chipset drivers missing ?)

Another thing - maybe try to disconnect and reconnect the drive again and make sure that everything sits fine - just a thought in the moment.

Also i think something which might cause a "performance drop" - what cpu do you actually have in your system and have you checked how many pcie  lanes it supports max.? Depending on what you have installed in your HDD expansion slot - maybe there is some bandwidth being shared and other system parts remove some of the pcie lanes you would need to fully get advantage of a gen 3x4 NVME drive.

Is there something like a software for your crucial SSD there, so you can check what GEN your interface and what GEN your drive shows in your system?

Hope some of these ideas help or lead to a solution.

Cheers,

Steve
