I did many other tests and, with or without sound enhancements or whatsoever, the high-pitched whistle is there.
I must say it's more vague when on skype but definitely there, and unbearable whe recording videos and saving them locally.
Moreover I noticed this fact:
the SSD unit is noisy, it basically does a feeble clackling sound wuring I/O operation (like, electrical crackling) and it's by design, since this was happening also in the identical model I purchased righ before this one.
and this sound is getting caught by the microphone! I know this sounds unrealistic but I'm doing many tests and I'm completely sure about that: there's disk noise reverberating in the microphone.
It's a second, separated sound effect, but it's really annoying on a latest generation laptop (and not that cheap, I must say).
I bought this PC to provide professional services, but I underestimated that it wasn't build by professionals...
This laptop is almost a scam (and no one is paying my time back...)
I know it sounds unbelievable but I'm really sure about this.
It's a hearable sound from below the keyboard and it happened on two identical machines(5579).
It's strictly linked to I/O activity and I tested many times for that. It's a noisy drive by design.
and moreover it interacts with the microphone recording: it's hearable in the sound recording! (this in addition to the beeping sound I described).
I provide live online courses as a job, so you can imagine this double-horrifying interaction really hits me... (almost as much as waiting weeks for a new laptop, without working!)
Very sad, and basically Dell is doing nothing for me, as in most of cases I see here...

Hi again everyone,

This is an audio recording of me going through webcam off > 240p > 480p > 720p and no webcam again.
It's done with audacity. My voice is lame but the effect is obvious - especially if you listen with decent earphones.
This is the webcam on / off recording. Listen to check for the difference (audacity recording with webcam on and off respectively)...
I'm still astonished every time, it look almost like this issue (I mean, only ten years has passed...)

Meanwhile, tech support just stopped answering to my emails... I find this very offensive.
I think all of this is ridiculous, if not illegal.
I got NO SUPPORT from tech support. NO CARE from customer care.
What I paid for? Losing time and a **bleep**ty laptop?

Meh, seems I'm the only one getting two new laptops with the same behavior?
I can't say I'm happy. I'll recommend to everyone to never buy Dell again.
