Inspiron 7415 - Intermittent Screen Flickering/Snow on AC Power
Hey Everyone,
I have quite a strange issue with a fairly new 7415 2-in-1...
When the device is plugged in to AC power (via 65W usb-c) - the internal panel, and externals if connected, exhibit a snowy pixelation....sometimes to the intensity of color distortion or blocks of purple/pink.
Things I have tried to resolve this issue:
- Updating of graphics drivers via Dell support site
- Reversion to original driver version (again, Dell)
- BIOS updates
- Installation of AMD drivers for chipset from AMD site
- Used a different Dell 65W power source (from same model)
- Re-installed OS (factory reset effectively)
- Quick and Full diags (no hardware issues reported)
- Run device WITHOUT any AMD/Dell graphics driver installed - this actually resolves the issue temporarily? However, any graphics driver version install immediately causes the issue to return.
I sat with hardware support for multiple hours recently to see if they could determine the issue, and after running diags(which I had already tried) - they concluded no hardware issues to be found. I have been referenced to software support, but I don't understand how it could be software-level if the issue can persist between different OS installs?
