Inspiron 7591 2-in-1, integrated camera error code: 0xA00F4244

Has anyone else received that error code after an update?

I purchased a new Inspiron 7591 2-in-1 laptop on March 27, 2020. I used it until June for work and school. The integrated camera worked and I had no issues. I stopped using it once school finished for about a month. Once my summer class started in July, I didn't have to use it until my fall semester started. I updated the laptop with all the routine updates it needed from Dell and Windows. After one of those updates, my integrated camera no longer worked.  Apparently some Dell laptops don't use Dell drivers, but a standard Microsoft one so I can't even find camera drivers for my laptop on the website!

My integrated camera is showing up in the BIOS, but is not registering in the system drivers. There are no sign of any imaging driver at all in the Device Manager or any other part of my computer outside of the BIOS.

I have spent countless hours on and off the phone with Dell tech support, supposedly their Premium Plus Support that I paid for when I purchased the Inspiron 7591 2-in-1. They have not been able to fix it. What on earth did I pay nearly $300 more for, when CLEARLY "Premium Plus Support" was just a bogus upsell.

After hours of phone calls with Tech support, the only solution they could come up with was to replace the integrated camera. Well, one week, two weeks, three weeks has turned into nearly three months! And still no tech has arrived with the replacement integrated camera.

They offered a refurbished replacement, which is not okay after spending $1500 on a BRAND NEW Laptop. Refurbished is not even close to a satisfactory solution.

I have had the Inspiron 7591 2-in-1 since March 27, 2020, and have used it for a total of 8 weeks out of that time! I have had to resort to using my mom's laptop which is more often not a hindrance for both us.

I can't use it for work or school, where I am required to be visible for virtual classes and meetings, and it's impacting my school grades, and my work, Neither of which is okay, given that it's a brand new laptop.

I had to save for two years to afford a new laptop! I purchased one that was supposed to be "top notch".

I am so furious and dissatisfied with Dell products, Tech support, and their service that I will never purchase anything from Dell again.

Either the webcam itself became disconnected (not likely) or it is a software issue.

You should be blaming Microsoft not Dell since it is one of their updates that ¨broke¨ the webcam.
