Inspiron G5 15-5590, solved high temp problem!
Hey,
Just wanted to share that I solved the problem I was having with my new Dell Inspiron G5 15-5590 with the help of this subject. Just to give a bit of context, CPU was easily reaching 100°C when gaming (usually Monster Hunter / The Witcher 3).
After buying a cooling pad and a exhaust, I managed to get 90°C when gaming.
So after reading A LOT from this subject, I decided the best would be to repaste it. Today I got a tube of Grizzly Kryonaut and went to repaste it. I really don`t know if it's common, but the stock thermal paste was very "dry" on the heatsink and on CPU/GPU. It was not with the consistency I would expect to a paste. Also, there was this black tape (I think it's electric tape) covering part of the CPU, instead of just being around it.

Solution. I've been having this a lot. when I first got it i had to disable turbo boost and put it on high performance. it was good for a while then the temps started getting hot and theres a temp limit so i'd lag whenever they did so the temp could lower. first i downloaded gpu tweak and got rid of the limit but my gpu went up to 90C!!!!!! eventually i bit the bullet and decided to replace thermal paste and clean the fans. now I get only 60-70C NEVER above 70 and cpu around 65 while resting temp is 40-45!! the thermal paste was so poor and dried! also change the graphics card power setting to optimised on the nvidia control panel!

Hi, how much did your temps improve? I re-pasted today and got the same result almost. And what cooling pad and exhaust did you buy?
I got a 5587 but I see that they are quite alike. Thanks.
