Inspiron will not power up
My Dell 15 7000 will not turn on. The green light on the transformer/power converter(?) is on but nothing happens when I press the power button. I installed a new battery but it did not help. Possible a dead motherboard? For a short time before this every so often I had to press the power button several times before it would power up. Got a bad feeling about this problem.

Remove the battery.
Remove the hard drive.
Plug in just the AC adapter.
If the laptop won't even boot into BIOS, you have a dead motherboard.

Welcome to the Dell Community @Jayhawk238
Try holding down the " D " key and then push the power button.
Does it complete the display test???
If you have 2 populated memory slots try using just one in both slots???
Best regards,
U2

I removed both the battery and hard drive and it was a no go. Looks like either a new motherboard and a new laptop. And with the prices fora new board would be one heck of a down payment on a new laptop. Thank you again with all your help !

Finally found my problem. It was the power cord. The new battery I installed must have been DOA. Put the old battery back in and it powered up in the safe mode. Plug-in a new power cord and the battery started charging. So I'm back up and running. Thank's to all for your input.
