Inspiron won’t start after driver update

I had gotten a Bluescreen when starting my computer, “Unexpected Store Exception.” I thought, “Eh, havent updated the drivers in awhile, that must be it.” So I installed 3 Critical driver updates and 3 suggested ones at the same time. Installation went normally except when the drivers were being installed file explorer had automatically opened to a location labeled “Recovery” or something similar, and had an empty file folder also labeled recovery. I though “Oh, must be part of the updates. Odd” And then restarted the computer when I was prompted to. In hindsight this should’ve been a huge red flag.

That was about 40 minutes ago, and since then the only thing that seems to be doing anything on the computer is that the fan is on. Pressed the power button once, no response. Spacebar, no response. Pressed the button that should activate the backlit keyboard (Was curious if the screen simply wasnt doing anything, but the rest of the computer was), and nothing.

Havent tried holding the power button down since I’m worried it could damage the computer if something was actually going on behind the scenes, (After all, you’re always told not to turn the PC off during an update

Not sure what to do now, since its been 40 minutes and it definitely should be done updating by now.

Problem solved, I think. After an hour and a half of just fan activity I shut it down and turned it back on by holding the power button. Oddly enough that Recovery thing is gone.

I’m not sure why it didnt restart on its own, or display the Dell Driver Update screen. Very odd.
