Installing Drivers

Greetings-

Recently I purchased an M2 NAND SSD Drive for my Inspiron 5570 laptop computer with the hope that I could have an additional drive to boot into Windows 8 for older programs which are not compatible with W10.  Drive was successfully installed and Windows 8.1 Pro was also, however the wireless network indicates that it is unplugged and the touchscreen does not work.  I am assuming this is because the drivers are not installed for those hardware devices.

While booted into W8 (connected via USB tethering from phone) and logged into the Dell website and reference my product it automatically searches for drivers based on Windows 10.  If  I download and install the drivers for networking nothing changes and I am still not able to connect wirelessly or use the touchscreen.

I would like to know where I may obtain the drivers for my hardware that are compatible with W8.  Could anyone help?

This system is incompatible with Windows 8. It's Windows 10 only as shown on the Inspiron 5570 drivers page.

This is not accurate.

I was able to manually download the network drivers for my hardware to a flash drive while logged into the Windows 10 drive, then booted back into Windows 8 and successfully install the drivers for Network and internet connection.  It was not until I rebooted after installing the network drivers into W8 that the available networks showed up in the system tray and have since been able to to connect to the internet in W8 without issue.  Apologies for not following up sooner.

Only problem now is that while logged into W8 Windows update notifies me that I have it installed on a computer that is manufactured with a newer operating system and that I won't be able to download W8 updates.

That "only problem" is because the very accuracy you deny is accurate - this system has a CPU that nothing older than Windows 10 supports.

LOL!

It works perfectly.  I'm just not able to download the updates for Windows 8 with Windows Update.  I have to manually install them individually.

And if this is Windows 8 (not 8.1), it went end of life in 2016 -- 8.1 follows in about a year and a half.  Whatever you have that won't run under Windows 10 will need updating soon.

@Clickety Split  Yups that is what incompatible/compatible means.

Even though Dell doesn't recommend, you can even run Windows XP or windows 98 on it.

But you will end up doing these manual installation/troubleshooting a lot.

Most important of all : In case of Security vulnerabilities found by Dell, Intel, AMD, nViDIA  they release patches via Driver updates,. you won't get them
