Integrated intel hd card cause fps drops while gaming

Question

So my problem is this: When i play games after some time i get fps drops and even crackling sound at times. I opened msi afterburner to see what is going on i noticed that after some time integrated graphics usage increases to %90s and dedicated graphic usage decreases from % 100 to even 10s and that is when fps drops happens. This happens for five or ten seconds and it returns to normal. This is really frustrating. What i tried: Checked my computer for malware > none Set power option to high performance Updated drivers and BIOS Some said set cpu usage limit to %99 percent to avoid throttling tried it didn't solve it Some said disable virtual audio device as it interferes with the graphics tried it it didn't help Deleted and reinstalled graphic drivers (strangely, after this cpu temp went high as 95°c normally it stays around 70°c and that is when i noticed integrated graphics stopped interfering with dedicated graphics but temps were high but when i rebooted the computer it went back to being 70°c and fps drops continued) also while i play games dedicated graphics usage is always %100 My specs are: intel 7700hq İntel hd graphics 630 Nvidia gtx 1050 ti 16 gb ram

@Lyka it could be thermal throttling. On my XPS 15 9530 I have severe FPS drops during gaming, and when I datalogged GPU clock speed and temperature, it was very clear that the clock speed dropped sharply when the GPU reached a certain temperature and then stayed at that lower clock speed until it cooled off to a different predefined temperature. I wasn't watching the specs on the Intel GPU, but I suppose it's possible that the system is able to shift rendering load over to the Intel GPU when the discrete GPU needs to throttle, as opposed to just reducing its own clock speed.

Also, what system model do you have? That's useful information to provide in addition to specs.

System model? Do you mean OS? If so i use win 10 64. You are probably right the more i look into it the more i am convinced it is related to thermal throttling. Only thing makes me think that is dedicated gpu doesnt change its temp. Also i noticed that cpu watt also drops when integrated interferes. I have read about how undervolting and using a cooler pad can help and i wonder if that is the truth. Can you give me some information? @jphughan

Spoiler So i managed to solve the issue, when i installed intel xtu and monitored cpu activity during gaming sessions. My cpu went to 95°c and then thermal throttling began then temperatures and cpu clock speed decreased during this time integrated gpu took some of the load (don't know why) and fps dropped too. What i did was i undervolted cpu and gpu and even igpu to decrease heat and stop thermal throttling. Thermal throttling stopped. Fps is more stable but sometimes it power limit throttles but to get rid of that is another story. Thanks everyone. I also have the same problem with my Dell G5 15. Intel UHD hits 100 while the rtx stays in 20s.
