Screen tearing is a common issue that can occur when playing games on a laptop or desktop computer. It occurs when the monitor's refresh rate is not in sync with the graphics card's output, resulting in an image that appears to be split or "torn" across the screen.
Here are some possible solutions to try:
Enable V-Sync: V-Sync is a graphics option that can help eliminate screen tearing by syncing the monitor's refresh rate with the game's frame rate. Make sure that V-Sync is enabled in the graphics settings of the games you're playing.
Use a higher refresh rate: If your laptop's monitor has a higher refresh rate (e.g. 120Hz or 144Hz), try using it instead of the default 60Hz. This can help reduce screen tearing.
Limit frame rate: Limiting the frame rate in games can help reduce screen tearing by ensuring that the graphics card's output is in sync with the monitor's refresh rate. You can do this in the graphics settings of your game.
Update graphics drivers: Make sure that your graphics drivers are up-to-date. You can download the latest drivers from Intel's website.
Adjust graphics settings: Some graphics settings, such as anti-aliasing or texture filtering, can put more strain on the graphics card and cause screen tearing. Try adjusting these settings to a lower level to see if it helps.
Use Borderless Windowed Mode: As you mentioned, using borderless windowed mode can sometimes help reduce screen tearing. Try using this mode in the games that have issues with screen tearing.
If none of these solutions work, it's possible that there may be a hardware issue with your laptop's graphics card. In this case, you may want to consider contacting Intel support for further assistance.
