@Lindz57 depending on what version of Internet Explorer you're using, it might be because IE doesn't support any of the modern security standards that are widely in use on the Internet these days. And honestly even Microsoft says not to use Internet Explorer anymore in general because even the latest version is hugely outdated by now, which means lots of webpages won't work properly even if they sort of load, and it also has a lot of security vulnerabilities. Try using either Firefox, Chrome, or the new Chrominum-based Microsoft Edge. Of course if you can't browse anywhere, you might need to download the installer for one of those browsers from some other PC and copy it onto your PC using a flash drive or something.
@Lindz57 I figured that might be a problem, which is why I suggested using a different PC to download the installer for one of those browsers, then transferring that installer to your own PC using a flash drive. If you want to confirm that is likely to work, as opposed to some other issue that's actually preventing ALL Internet connectivity rather than just Internet browsing specifically with IE, here's a simple test you can run. Click the Start button, start typing "Command Prompt", and launch the application of the same name. Then in the window that appears, type "ping www.google.com" (without the quotes). Do you get replies? If so, your PC is able to get out onto the Internet and it's your browser that's the issue. If you do NOT get replies, then there's something else going on.
I tried setting up Chrome on my computer and it could not complete setup because it couldn’t connect to the internet. Again I have Full bars and Excellent connectivity but for some reason there is a disconnect. I should mention that this was never an issue until about three years ago when I had to do a factory reset in this computer.
@Lindz57 if you downloaded the "stub" installer that just turns around and downloads the application, then the issue I described could still be an issue. That's partly why there are also "full" or "offline" installers that contain the entire application. But could you try running that ping test I suggested?
