Yes, that is the way of the future. Just backing up the Windows 10 OS requires about 3 GB, so if all you're creating is the OS reinstall, you could get by with a smaller drive.
Thanks Robert. It's been a while since I purchased a computer from a retail source, and I forgot that manufacturers no longer include the boot disk info with the product.

A 64GB thumb drive should be sufficient.
