Latitude E6400 Screen Problem

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could help me with a few issues with the display on my Latitude E6400. The bigger of the two problems is the screen ghosting. I have tried removing the cable from the display itself, and the motherboard. However, the problem disappears when I use an external monitor. The second of the two problems is the backlight. It doesn't light the screen evenly, as seen in the pictures. I can live with that, though. Also, I don't think that this is related to the problem, but the laptop is running Windows 7 64 bit.

Thanks for any help!

That laptop is getting up there in age (around 10 - 11 years) and I suspect the screen is showing signs of that age. The fact that an external monitor (with a faster refresh rate) does not do it would seem to indicate an LCD laptop screen problem. Try running system diagnostics. Restart the system and at the Dell splash screen start tapping F12. Run full system diagnostics paying attention to any LCD errors. But possibly the time is coming to consider a new laptop with far better performance and a better display.
