Linux Question
Is there a dedicated Linux department, section or person that handles LInux questions, I have recently changed to back to Linux with the rollout of W11, and I'm having a booting problem. I have tried 6 different distro's, and all six give me the same error message, "You must load the kernel first". If I just keep rebooting, it will eventually boot up after the 6 or 7th hard reboot. Windows 10 still boots fine, But with that many distro's throwing the same error, I feel it must be in the pc. (Inspiration 3793). I have reinstalled the grub/boot menu, I have ran every diagnostic known to Linux dealing with booting, everything comes back perfect. So the software is right, that only leaves something with the machine that's not meshing with the software. I don't think it's anything big, it just needs a little adjustment to one or the other, or both, I know software, to a point, but the hardware is a little out of my league.

If the system has a Dell-installed copy of Windows on it, the drive is running in Intel RAID/RST mode -- which may be the problem, unless you've customized the Linux install and used a distribution of Linux that supports RST and UEFI.
There is Ubuntu 18 support on this system for Dell.
Beyond that, you haven't provided much detail - are you replacing Windows with Linux, or dual-booting -- and if dual booting, with Windows 10 or with Windows 11?

Thanks for responding, I probably should have included more info, but we both know not many people know about LInux, much less know how to fix it, and I didn't see a need in typing for 30 minutes for people that have never heard of Linux. My mistake. I was really just trying to locate someone that knows enough about LInux to give me a little bit of direction. I have the same post on the forum for the distro.
No I have reinstalled W10 using an iso download from MS. I will be dual booting with W10 for the time being. I am running Zorin 16, which is an Ubuntu 20.04 derivative. Trying to think of anything relevant, the live installers work perfect. Even on reboots. I have disabled Fast Boot, and Secure Boot, per directions. It's not the most complicated activity, I OON'T know what else you might need. just let me know.thanks again.
