@AdrianG001 I'm well aware of the lower right speaker icon and its volume control. I mention it in my OP. My point was, even at the max volume, some site's audio was too low. The steps I listed in my OP corrected the situation for me.
Hope this is clear now despite my typo and incorrect attempt at correcting it.
If the steps above don't resolve your issue, please update your BIOS and audio drivers.
1) Right-click the Start button and selectDevice Manager 2)Expandthe Audio inputs and outputs category to see available drivers. 3) Right-click the audio device experiencing issues and selectUninstall 4)Restart your computer(don't skip this step) 5) Go to theDell Support site 6)Enter yourService Tagor Express Service Code (figure 1)

7) Select theDrivers & Downloads
8) Find the latest BIOS and install 9) Find thelatest audio driverfrom the list and click the Download button (figure 2)
(To narrow down the list of drivers, select Driver under the Download Type dropdown, and select Audio under the Category dropdown)

09) Download and install any prerequisites that are identified in the dialog window before proceeding 10) Click theInstall button 11) Follow the remaining prompts to perform the update.

Please click on speaker icon on lower right hand corner to increase the volume & check if it makes a difference.
May I know from when you are facing this issue? Please connect earphones & check if audio works fine with earphone. Also check the sound quality by connecting external speakers.

Please follow these steps to fix the low speaker volume.
Running an Audio Troubleshooter:
1. Open the Start menu
2. Type audio troubleshooter and search for Find and fix problems with playing sound
3. In the troubleshooter, select the audio device and click on next
4. Follow the on-screen instructions
5. When done, restart your computer (don't skip this step)
