Major startup issue pls help (G7)

Question

I have a model G7 and suddenly it suddenly froze, monitor went black. I tried to turn it off but did not react for power button even if I pushed it for 30 sec. Later it turned itself off. When I press the power button, de caps lock starts to react but nothing else, a small noise can be heard from the vents then it turns off. A few minutes later the keyboard lights came back but no other reaction, only the caps lock if I press power. Sometimes the vents come back on like it wants to boot itself up (I don’t touch it, does it on its own) but then it goes off. Keyboard light is still on but does not react to anything. Tries disconnecting it but doesnt change anything.  Can you please help me out?

Try an F12 boot and run the Diagnostic to ensure your hardware has not failed.

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately the monitor does not turn on and the laptop does not react to anything, only the power button. If I press power, the vents start a little and the caps lock LED but both go off 20 sec after. So doagnostics are off.

It probably needs a hard reset but the battery seems complicated, cannot be popped out like regular laptops

The battery can be removed even on this laptop, it just requires the back cover to be opened, do let us know if you got a set of screw drivers for you to carry out this, we can share the manual and instructions to check few more connections inside the system. ^PM

Yes, I already removed the back once but the setup seems a bit complicated, that’s why I asked for support instead, I don’t want to mess it up. If you can help me with the battery removal, that would be great!

Thank you for contacting us, sorry about the delay, we seem to be having an overwhelming response for the day and took a bit while for us to get back to you, we are trying our best to help resolve the concerns as quick as possible.

Here is the manual with step by step instructions to remove each component.

We would recommend removing the battery, coin cell battery memory and the hard drive and put them back one by one and press the power utton to check each time, if the symptoms has changed.

Thank you for the feedback. I did everything as you recommended, removed the pieces then put them back, literally nothing changed, even with the coin battery removed, just the LEDs on the keyboard, no monitor response, no toggle.
This probably means the motherboard is fried, right? I have to look for a warranty service in Budapest, Hungary

Yes, I checked it, the little green LED on the adapter stays on when connected.

There was a huge storm on the day it stopped working, might be the cause.

Does the light on the adapter stays on when connected to the system?
