Monitor not scaling to screen

Hello:  I have a reconditioned Dell (dxdiag) "System Model: Inspiron 7348", "Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-5200U CPU @ 2.20GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.2GHz", that works very well.  OS is updated W8.1 as I need at least 1 'previous' OS machine for work

I set up and ran N**t*n Advanced Utilities as that usually good stuff.  It can defragment by application...  N**t*n drivers scan and repair set my monitor back to "Generic PNP" so only part of the screen is displayed and no of screen scaling or resolution changed can fix this.  N**t*n Advanced Utilities does not create a restore point so watch out...

My graphics card is: "Card name: Intel(R) HD Graphics 5500".

And this PC obviously has monitor: "13.3-inch Full HD WLED touch", NOT Generic PNP.

Please, can anyone point me to the correct model specific drivers for this monitor?  My old eyes are bad and hard to see a screen shrunken to '13.3-inch HD WLED touch" or Generic PNP monitor.

Thank you very much and still stay safe.

Warm Regards,

Saturn233207

try re-installing Windows 10 drivers https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/product-support/product/inspiron-13-7348-laptop/drivers

starting with chipset and video

It isn't clear whether you've done a reinstall of Windows, but if you have, be sure you've installed all the chipset drivers, rebooted, and then installed the video driver.

It's not the monitor that's the issue -- it's the GPU driver.

Drivers here under "chipset" and display

Thank you all for your suggestions.  I'll try what 7 Thorium suggested.  This PC is reconditioned and I bought it 3 years ago with W8.1 installed.  I need one W8.1 PC to run National Instruments (just NI now) LabVIEW 2013.  I'm a Senior Automation Engineer and some targets are older PCs... LabVIEW 2020 is not strictly compatible with W8.1 and LabVIEW 2013 is not strictly compatible with W10...

Thanks again, will try and report back.  If it that does not work then I can still plug in my digital HDTV HDMI...

Thank you all but so far but none of that worked and must keep W8.1 on this PC.  Perhaps Dell has a response...  The "13.3-inch Full HD WLED touch" monitor driver is rather arcane...

I never thought I'd see LabVIEW mentioned on a Dell forum.

I have LabVIEW 2013 installed on my Windows 10 desktop PC Optiplex 3020 and LabVIEW 2013SP1 installed on my Windows 10 laptop PC Latitude E6230. They seem to work fine.

Anyway, once you get everything working again, I would suggest backing up the hard drive.

Yes, seems a lot of scammers out there on this Dell blog looking for service IDs.  DELL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION PLEASE TAKE NOTE.

To Wit: noreply@dellcommunity.dell.com via us.khoros-mail.com? Not Dell but claiming so for phishing? khoros-mail.com?  Obviously NOT DELL.
What are you after? My old PCs service tag?  DELL NEEDS TO BE ALERTED TO YOU.

Given that you don't know exactly what the utility did, consider a clean install of Windows 8.1, followed by the chipset and video driver.  There is no need for a display panel driver on a notebook system -- that isn't the issue.

SEROUSLY DELL BLOG ADMINISRATION:  Private messages from noreply@dellcommunity.dell.com via us.khoros-mail.com? Not Dell but claiming so for phishing? khoros-mail.com? If OFFICIAL DELL uses this email server please send me proof and authentication with my registered but long expired service code.  Dell already knows that.  Communications obviously NOT straight from DELL and I can geographically trace email servers.  Um, PTC uses us.khoros-mail.com for update mesages.so may perhaps be authentic.  Khoros server is in Germany?  Better than Russia or China.  Is OFFICIAL DELL hosting this blog in Germany?  Not a bad country to host a blog but I'm confused by the Service Tag ID request from a NOT Dell US Official website.

Warm Regards,

A Senior ChE and Automation Engineer.
