NVMe SSD No longer recognized after Bios 1.2.2 Update Inspiron 5570

So I installed a NVMe SSD in my laptop (Inspiron 5570), cloned the install 1TB to it and it has worked fine for a few months, so I wiped the internal 1TB drive for a storage drive.  Windows just updated the BIOS to the newest version 1.2.2 and now the computer won't recognize the SSD and I don't have a bootable drive.  I can boot into Ubuntu using a Live USB and do not see the SSD listed in the available drives.  Tried all kind of BIOS settings and restored to Defaults - but nothing works, the drive just doesn't show up.  I'd open the laptop and reseat the drive, but that seems an unlikely culprit after a BIOS update.  Anyone have this happen?  SHould I try downgrading the BIOS? Thanks.

I'd revert back to the previous BIOS, myself, if you think that was the cause.  You might want to think about shutting off any BIOS updating that attaches to the motherboard.  Long story short.
