But other devices like your phone do work, right? I had this problem too. But it got fixed when I connected to Ethernet instead of WiFi. After that, wifi also started working. I don't know the root cause either, but try doing that.
When you connected by Ethernet cable to the router, the laptop was able to go online and get the driver it needed and whatever other Windows updates were needed.
I have been dealing with this problem on and off for months! Now it is permanant, will not come back with restart (previously would). Dell will not assist with repairing this issue. This is a huge issue that a mass amount of people are trying to figure out how to fix. Would be great if Dell would give us the answer, instead of trying to charge us a tech fee to fix their faulty product. Anyone know?? I had to purchase another laptop due to this issue. But would like to get my Dell working again if possible. NOT HAPPY WITH DELL.

@Lala0091
There are several models in Inspiron 5000 series. You need to be more specific. Use your Service Tag number to look up the info on Dell.com

@Lala0091 go to this page https://www.dell.com/support/home/in/en/inbsd1?app=drivers and press 'Detect PC'. The model number will show up then. Tell us that model number (it will be a 4-digit number like 5570 or 5790, etc.)
