Power button not usable for power (only fingerprint)
Hello. My Inspiron 15's power button is also the fingerprint scanner. The fingerprint works great, but when I press it to put sleep the laptop, it wakes up instantly saying fingerprint not recognized. Is it possible to use it for both fingerprint AND power?
p.s. I close the lid a lot (for taking laptop to another room, etc), so I don't want to use that for power.

Please go to Control Panel> Programs and features. Search for fingerprint driver and uninstall it.
Once done, open device manager and remove biometrics driver. Restart the system.
Download and install the driver from the below link or from our support site.
Fingerprint Sensor Driver
Please run Support Assist and install drivers and BIOS updates as well.

Open Control Panel, go to "System and security", above "Energy options", click "Change the actions of the power button".
What are your current settings there?
