Thank you for your message. I apologize for the inconvenience caused.

This issue has been escalated to the product team & they are working on a new BIOS update & should be available in the next few days.

What is the error message that you get when you try to downgrade BIOS?

For my reference, please click on the message tab next to your avatar– click “New Message” & search for my Dell username (Dell-Sreejith R) & send a private message with the service tag, registered name & email address.

Once I installed the 1.3 versionof the bios during the restart of the notebook the display says, Bios downgrade not supported. And the bios remain the 1.4.1. Thank you

Thank you for your message. This issue has been escalated to our product team & they are working on a new BIOS release & should be available soon. I do not have an ETA as of now.

You should get a BIOS notification on Support Assist once the new version is released.

Hi Sreejith R

Thank you for your participation. I just sent you a PM. I have the exact same problem and even spent an hour with a support ticket trying to resolve the issue. Just a few moments ago the support rep told me he wants to send my G5 to a Dell Service Center??????

I'm confused? This is NOT a hardware issue. What EXACTLY can a Dell Service Center perform to fix this issue? With over 25 years in IT, I can certainly upgrade a new fixed Bios release :)

Hope you can clarify?

Hi, manchildvegas,

Thank you for your message.

To be frank, there is nothing much that can be done by the depot team as there no hardware failure here.  Unless the depot team has a motherboard with the older BIOS version this is not going to help & I doubt if the depot team has those boards.

Hi Sreejith R

Outstanding. I hope Dell gives you a LARGE raise because your attention and details is really fantastic.

Here we go: Installed/flashed Bios to 1.5.0 from Windows. Everything went as it should. I held my breath :)

I use HWINFO 64 so the very next thing is I ran the stress hardware test via Support Assistant and then immediately encoded a 4K video in Power Director. Summary: Temps are fine and the fans are working. The skin above the keyboard also is not as hot as it was before. See this screen capture and remember I ran both tests as fast as I could and one after the other:

Thanks again and I hope this post helps others. :)
