This is getting to be very annoying. Last night battery percentage was on 6% when I powered off the laptop. Today battery health lost another 5% .

You should never let the battery run down completely. That is an outdated practice that was used on the very first batteries and doesn't apply to today's batteries.  Lithium batteries should never be allowed to run out completely. Each time you did it battery life was lessened. Also make sure your laptop is turned completely off at night. Don't use Hybrid Sleep or Hibernation since those will run down the battery. See this--

The battery health reduction happens when rebooting while the battery is less than 20% charged. This is a laptop ..... You take it to your work and you ...work. And sometimes you cannot carry the charger with you. And sometimes battery is less that 20%. And you turn it off. And when power on , battery health decreases. Does is seem logical to anyone ? This is not my first laptop. This is not my first Dell laptop either. It sure be the last one.

Thank you for your message. Battery life may decline over time - this is considered a normal characteristic of a rechargeable battery and not a fault.

Are you checking the battery health within the operating system or in BIOS?

For my reference, please click on the message tab next to your avatar– click “New Message” & search for my Dell username (Sreejith R) & send a private message with the service tag, registered name & email address.

How to locate the service tag

Just an update.

As I said in my previous posts my original battery started to behave abnormal after only 2-3weeks of use. With abnormal I mean that percentage dropped instantly from 25% to 6% without any reason and battery health degraded a lot.

After contacting Dell Service in Greece they recognised the problem and sent me a new battery.

But the problems keep on.

New battery behaves the same.

The major problem is over a month now percentage drops from 40% to 5% instantly. So that makes impossible to use the laptop without the charger and I use it for work.

Bottom line is I spent 650euros for a laptop that had a problem from the start.

And don't tell me that batteries have a lifetime of a year.

I used 2 batteries and both had the same problem after only a couple of weeks of use.

Maybe there is a problem with the mainboard , I dont know.

My laptop warranty has ended 2 months ago (I don't know what is the warranty of the replecemant battery , but I don't think a new battery will fix anything).

Only solution for me is to start saving money to buy a new laptop. Wasn't expected such poor quality from Dell.
