Inspiron 15 7567 - Processor fan failed to respond correctly

I have a Dell Inspiron 15 7567 and just recently my laptop gave me this error during its startup. My BIOS is up to date and I have run the diagnostics already, same error pops up. The fans does not work when idle nor when in a game. Does this mean that I need to buy new fans?

My warranty has expired for awhile now.

Same problem on a 7200 2in1. 3 months ago had this issue, with a dell support technician we downgraded the BIOS then upgraded again, it worked. Today it started again. This time nothing worked. I even reinstalled the windows. So far no luck. I'll update this thread if I find a solution this time.

UPDATE: downloaded and installed from dell official website the following BIOS version: Latitude_7200_2In1_1.6.2, which is from December 2019 (so very old). That is, I effectively downgraded the BIOS again. The fan started working immediately. As of now it works. Have yet to decide whether to upgrade it again or not.

Hope this helps somebody.

I think its a design fault. I got it repaired by dell last month. Issue was solved. But it has appeared again recently! This one is really is a bad tested product they just threw out in the market. They have even discontinued the higher video card versions. The thermal design is really bad. Nobody expects such stuff from 1200 dollars laptop in just a year! I have another 300 dollars Dell laptop working just fine for 10 years. But Dell disappointed me this time.

I have dell Vostro and having the same error message on boot. However the fan is not dead rather spinning very loudly when laptop gets hot. Are there any serious damages being done to laptop? How should I resolve this?

Hi all. Yes I have this same issue of failed fan on a Dell XPS 9550. I have replaced both fans now actually and still the same problem. It just sits there sort of pulsing the fan and trying to start it continuously (like a pulse of once per second) and fails Dell Diagnostics each boot,

I even disconnected the Processor Fan and plugged into the GPU fan - it worked fine. But any fan plugged into the processor socket does not work. BIOS was out of date so upgraded to latest - no change. I really hope this is not a motherboard issue and not able to be rectifiied,...

Update. I reverted back to the oldest possible revision of the BIOS but the fan is still showing as faulty so this solution did not work.
