Program Files Location

Hi,

I own a Dell Inspiron 15 7000 gaming laptop. I use it for pretty much everything (Graphical design in uni, gaming, watching netflix/youtube, general web browsing). I've had it for a while and as such have a lot downloaded on the computer (Steam library, other games, documents for uni). Up until about a month ago I didn't realize that about 90% of my downloads were going straight to my SSD and not my Hard Drive. I factory reset the computer in an attempt to redownload all these files to my Hard Drive. I also managed to switch my default download location to my Hard Drive to stop clogging up the SSD so much. However, this didn't seem to work at all. Everything on my desktop is located in the HDD and that is it. Everything else is on the SSD. Even downloads from the wed browser end up on the SSD. For example, when I went to install spotify, the installer was downloaded to the HDD but then the app and all the song library appeared on the SSD. I think this has something to do with the fact that the program files are located on my SSD. This has also led to some issues with computer performance - windows updates not installing properly, audio drivers not detecting microphones, my cpu seems to always bottle neck leading to really bad frame rate and audio quality for about 10s every 10 minutes. This whole thing is just really frustrating and I think I'll owe you a case of denzel frothingtons if you can sort this out.

Regards,

LachyD
