Question about specific operating system?

Hi there. My question(s) here was for what supported operating systems meant - to the regards of what's mandatory or not for dell computers that runs on windows? I happen to have a dell laptop from 2015 and have a recovery tool for it that's a windows 10 32 bit system. It says here on the dell website that my laptop supports both windows 8.1 64 bit to 10 64 bit. Could a windows 8.1 32 bit and windows 10 32 bit work for my laptop as well? Or does 'supported operating systems' mean only that specific operating system can only go on there?

You could install Windows 32 bit but if you have more than 4GB of RAM, only 4 GB will be used as that is a 32 bit restriction. You can download Windows 10 from the MS site here and clean install Windows 10 64 bit.

Thanks for the reply. I did what you've mentioned and also have spoken to microsoft directly and apparently the computer itself is beyond  help with the issues that it has. I just decided to purchase a new one instead.
