Installing slower RAM than you currently have is usually not a recipe for compatibility success -- beyond that, "Value" RAM is just that - the cheapest available memory chips on the most cheaply designed and made module.

Welcome to the Dell Community @Larry Laffer
As far as compatibility is concerned it should be???
Inspiron 15 3000 Setup and Specifications:
https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-us/inspiron-15-3567-laptop/inspiron-15-3567-setup-specifications/memory?guid=guid-75267cc5-58e3-40c7-a127-2d6c59fbba8d&lang=en-us
Incompatibility could be as simple as one stick with 4 chips per side and one with 8 chips per side???
I keep a wide verity of 8GB DDR4 memory sticks for testing and populating laptops for resale.
Some will work as others may not.
I still have not found out exactly why this happens.
Best regards,
U2

The corsair i got has 8 chips total.
The dell s one has 16.
What about CAS Latency? does it matter? Both 15 and 17 are compatible with my motherboard?
