Raised trackpad - i5567

I got the Dell i5567 laptop as a gift for christmas. Less than two months ago. However, today I noticed that the trackpad had started to raise in the top right corner. Only very slightly. Still functional and not difficult to press. May have always been like this and never sat in the slot correctly? I’m just paranoid because I know swollen batteries can cause this, though I’ve not read any issues about this particular model regarding battery swelling. Is this merely manufacturing error? I use a cooling pad and laptop never overheats. Not constantly charged but I never let it die.

Remove the base cover and check the battery.  If it's swollen, remove it and get it out of your home or office - and call Dell to have the battery replaced.

Would it be swollen on both sides? As in, would I be able to tell just by looking or would I have to take it out and view the inward facing side.

Thanks

It'll depend on what the problem is;  you won't know until you look.

What should I look for? Raised pockets of gas?

Thanks

I own a G3 15 , 1 month old, and I am facing this same issue (Trackpad lift in top right corner). So should I ignore it or what should I do?

This Dell support page should help. And this video shows a swollen battery and replacement procedure. Do not ignore it as it can permanently damage your system and can be a hazzard.
