SD Card Issues

I have an Inspiron 7791, and whenever I try to move a file to the MicroSD I get a 0x800701e3 error. I figured the MicroSD card slot would allow for a nice memory expansion, but the card is completely useless without fixing this error.

This page has a number of suggestions as well as possible causes.

Looks like my main option there is to disable Secure Boot? I know the SD card works and it's a newly formatted card so it shouldn't be corrupted(it didn't work before formatting either, and I had to format using another device).

This is very close to being a clean install of Windows

So I went through and tried all of these and it hasn't worked I have noticed that there is an Intel driver showing up for the SD Host Adapter, but the Dell driver section for my laptop shows a Realtek Memory Card Driver. I tried to install this instead but Windows says that it isn't compatible with the device.

That took gets to 7% then fails, but I can format the microSD on other devices and it works in the other devices but not the laptop.

Sounds like a hardware problem.

Did a test using a live CD, Ubuntu is able to read, write, and format the drive. Thinkin' it's gotta be some kind of weird driver issue

I figured it out. It's not an Intel SD controller, and it's not the Realtek card reader driver listed on Dell's website. It's a "BayHubTech Integrated SD controller(SDA Compliant Host)"
