SSD doesn't improve performance

I have Dell Inspiron 5570, i7, 8GB RAM, 256 SSD, 2TB HDD ,4GB Radeon Graphic Card
I am using Ubuntu 18.04

Still it's performance is not good as compared to without ssd and system is hanged after 2-3 application. What can I do?

Are you sure you're booting off the SSD? Did you clean install, Clone? Do you have Boot files on both your hard drive and SSD? Sounds to me like your still booting to the hard drive, Even cheap slow SATA  SSD is way faster than Spinner hard drives.

Don't know.

I have a SSD in a E6230 and it boots up very quickly.

Not as noticeable with other activities.

Increasing RAM solved the issue
