My mistake in that: I put a new 1tb ssd instead of the old 256gb and started the laptop. The thing is that I did not install the OS on the new ssd, and this error message was given to me.
That system shipped with both an M.2 SSD and a 2.5" 1T spinning hard drive -- the error belongs to the hard drive, not the SSD. If you replaced the M.2 drive, you replaced the wrong hardware. It's the hard drive that has failed and that you need to replace.
