Smartbyte and Outlook

If your Outlook will not send an email, Smartbyte Drivers and Services may be the culprit. Emails sent from two of my email accounts stayed in the outbox. After working on it for quite a while, I found the problem was interference  from Smartbyte. Uninstalled the program and Outlook works fine.

Many posts in this forum about uninstalling Smartbyte. Uninstalling it solves lots of problems.

SmartByte is supposed to be there to manage Network Bandwith requirements.  I suppose if something was set to restrict certain types of use, it could restrict access to Outlook.

I have always thought it strange, if SmartByte is managing your Bandwidth, where is the user interface to set those priorities.

You are the first user I have seen that found SmartByte to be causing problems for an e-mail program.  I would have thought an Anti-virus would have been more likely to cause such a restriction.

Hello there!

Official support for Rivet Networks here.

We have confirmed that a large number of these problems are caused by using an outdated version of the Intel Wi-Fi driver. You can update your Intel Wi-Fi drivers to the latest version available by downloading and installing the appropriate package from Dell here – https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=vg6m5.

If that doesn't solve the issue for you, updating SmartByte from this location - https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/rc974514/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=mmvk6 - may help.

@Saltgrass, to answer your question about the user interface, you can access the SmartByte interface by clicking start, then type SmartByte, then click on SmartByte when it appears.

If you have any other issues with SmartByte, please tell us about by clicking here!
