I encountered the same problem. Please let me know where the DELL image of the Smartbyte app can be found. Thank you.

I restored using the drive image I created before reinstalling Windows. You can try restore using Dell Recovery in Boot Menu.

Actually, SmartByte is helpful to me since it makes browsing smooth while I am downloading. I left it on since the day I purchased my G7 and haven't encountered any issue with Internet speed.

Fyi if you do some research on these forums, you'll find a lot of complaints about poor Internet and/or WiFi speeds that was ultimately traced back to SmartByte, i.e. uninstalling the application and driver immediately boosted performance.  So if you decide to keep it, you may want to experiment.

Hello @jphughan

Official support for Rivet Networks here.

We have confirmed that a large number of these problems are caused by using an outdated version of the Intel Wi-Fi driver. You can update your Intel Wi-Fi drivers to the latest version available by downloading and installing the appropriate package from Dell here – https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=vg6m5.

If that doesn't solve the issue for you, updating SmartByte from this location - https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/rc974514/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=mmvk6 - may help.

@vinhtq115 - We're glad to hear that you're enjoying SmartByte!

If you have any other issues with SmartByte, please tell us about by clicking here!
