Ignore the warning message. It is incorrect if the download page says you don't need it. Support Assist has made this mistake before as reported here in this forum. You were right to double check the download site yourself. Always do that for any SA suggested update. You can even uninstall SA. You don't need it and it can be reinstalled anytime you might need it. Laptops rarely get driver updates since the hardware doesn't change.
This is NOT a solution. It is merely ignoring the problem. The problem is that no matter how many times the chipset is installed, the suggestion is that needs to be updated. Any "solution" that suggests ignoring or uninstalling SA is not a solution.
At Intel.com they have an automatic software update that scans your computer. I successfully updated my Dell Inspiron 17-7779 with the latest drivers from Intel.
However Dell Support Assist still says I need the Intel Chipset Device Software Driver updated. When I attempt to install this update from Dell, it hangs forever. I have let it run for more than 2 hours and it never finishes.
I agree that ignoring this is NOT a solution. Dell should fix their Support Assist software. It could use more status messages to indicate which step it is getting stuck on. I.E. a verbose mode. I trust Intel more than Dell.
Hello! In case you have a question about your Dell system or need technical assistance, may I have the Service Tag or Express Service Code or order number in a Private Message, please? I’ll validate your system warranty and get back to you with the available options.

Hello @Mary G ,
Many thanks for your reply. I actually found the driver into the registry and saw that is updated with the last Version, so everything is ok.
THanks a lot,
Tea
