Trading in a laptop
I ordered an Inspiron 14 5000 5491 and it works perfectly(exactly as advertised), but it wasn't until after I had the thing that I realized I wanted to get into PC gaming and this one wouldn't cut it. There is a laptop, the Dell G5 15, that is what I would need to game effectively. So my question is this: Can I return this Inspiron 14 5491 and trade it in for a G5 15 by paying a difference? I don't want to lose a lot of money from buying the wrong machine the first time, can it be done?

Within 30 days of shipment (from Dell in most places where it sells directly) yes. After that, no.
If it's older than 30 days, you'll need to sell it privately. Depending on how long you've had it, you may lose between 20-30% of the initial purchase price if it's just a couple of months old, up to 50% if it's more than a year old.
