USB devices not recognized
Hi folks,
re: Inspiron laptop 17-5765, Win 10.0.18363 Build 18363
I have usually had an optical mouse plugged into the USB 2.0 port on this laptop. About a week ago it suddenly stopped working.
When I plug the mouse in there is no light showing from the mouse.
After 30 seconds I get this Windows message: USB device not recognized. The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it.
The error message recommends re-trying the device but offers no further troubleshooting options.
Device Manager shows no problems with any of the USB ports or controllers.
I ran a full SupportAssist hardware scan and it found no problems.
Everything else on the machine is working well.
I really would appreciate any suggestions for dealing with this problem.

I'm also having this problem too.
I disconnected everything and still getting this error. I have a WD19 180w dock plugged in too. Ive done the same tests as you too.
Dell have sent me a replacement dock and still getting the same error.
Anyone have any advice on what I can do as its super annoying...
Some online tutorial suggest to change usb power settings but i don't even have that option on mine..
