Unable to generate Support Request
Hi,
I am unable to create support request via support assist & have called the toll-free number more than 5 times in the past 2 hours, and I have not even been provided with a Service/reference number or registered my issue by the support representative even after repeatedly asking them for it. After explaining the entire issue, I am being put on hold post which either the call gets disconnected or the support staff does it.
The mails sent to "technical_support@dell.com" also come back asking for a reference number. I have sent a mail to "Service_Escalations@dell.com" as well now.
I am facing a lot of issues from the past few months with my Dell Inspiron Laptop bearing
.
I received this laptop on Oct-19 in replacement of another laptop which was issued DOA.
This laptop has multiple issues since the very first few months:
- Heating problem
- Frequent freezing of the screen/ not responding
- Tabs in Internet Explorer /Chrome freeze up frequently even while surfing light websites
- Simple applications like MS Excel, Word, PPT don’t work smoothly.
- Zoom Application does not work/open
- Support assist, Task Manager, windows explorer go unresponsive frequently
- Laptop wont wake up after going on standby mode frequently (Grey screen)
- The Audio output jack doesn't detect the earphones occasionally
- Blue Screen errors
- Dell Support Assist error for Failing component (Fan)
Since the start of June, I started getting the Support assist errors mentioning “Dell Support Assist has detected a failing component on your system that requires immediate attention". I am also frequently getting the Blue Screen errors since then.
I had contacted the Santacruz Carry-in Service centre on call in June, since Technical support was not available, and I was advised to take a backup & submit the laptop to the Carry-in service centre and pick up later when fixed. However, I was in the containment zone at that time and could not go. Now there are no carry-in service centre in Mumbai where i can carry it to.
On Monday, I went to Dell Authorized Store for assistance and was told it could be a motherboard problem and recommended to request On-Site service/pick up considering that all Dell Service Centres in Mumbai are currently in the Containment zone & shut.
Given the Covid-19 situation we don't know when these service centres will be opened up again, request you to kindly make an exception and provide some support as my product is still under warranty.

Hello Kashaf. Please allow me sometime to review the email that you have sent. Meanwhile, do let me know if you have tried the steps that my colleague had suggested you to perform? ^MP

Hello Kashaf. I was able to review the images that you have shared with us in email and do see that the system has a fan failure. I understand the system BIOS is now up to date and you are still getting this fan failure, is that right? Also, does the system freeze instantly after you boot into the operating system or it freezes only after you start facing heating issue? Is the system abruptly shutting down? One last thing that I would suggest you is to edit/delete your post containing the subject line "reference#" keeping you privacy in mind, as we are on a public forum. You may reply to us in private message to continue this conversation further. ^MP
